The Bothell High School boys basketball team doubled up Skyline during the second quarter on Tuesday and road that momentum led to an 88-77 victory in Issaquah.
Bothell began the game just ahead of Skyline, 17-15, at the end of the first quarter. But the Cougars looked more like a track team during the second quarter, racing up and down the court for 28 points and building a 45-29 lead by halftime.
That lead would hold up as Skyline attempted to get back into the game during the third quarter, cutting the advantage to 10 points. But a 26-point fourth quarter helped the Cougars to fend off the Spartan surge.
Josh Martin led Bothell with 30 points, while teammates Peyton Cordova-Smith (13), Josh Kollman (12), Ross Bowers (10) and Hunter Dean (10) all finished in double digits in scoring.
