Bothell beats Tahoma to qualify for finals of tournament | Prep boys basketball

The Cougar boys basketball team will play in the finals of their Bothell Christmas Tournament at Bothell High School after defeating Tahoma 84-61 on Friday.

Bothell will face rival Issaquah in the finals tonight at 8:30 p.m.

Against Tahoma, the Cougars’ Zach LaVine continued his torrid scoring pace, putting up 33 points to lead all scorers.

Bothell left Tahoma behind during the first quarter, doubling up their opponent’s score 28-14. The Cougars nursed that lead until the fourth quarter when they put the game away with a 21-14 advantage.

Perrion Callandret (15) and Josh Martin (11) also scored in double figures for Bothell, while teammate Kellen Webster had nine points.

Issaquah defeated Edmonds-Woodway 58-55 during the other semifinal game Friday.

Shorecrest destroyed Ingraham 72-30 and Kamiak beat Highline 81-55 in the consolation semifinal.
