The Cougar girls basketball team beat Redmond Saturday, 58-40, behind strong defense at Bothell High School.

The Cougars began the game by slowly pulling ahead of the Mustangs for a 35-23 halftime lead. But the wheels fell off for the Mustangs during the third quarter, scoring just four points.

Bothell was led by Keyonna Jones with 13 points and Taya Corosdale with 11 points.
