Bothell bats come alive against Roosevelt | Prep roundup

The Bothell High fastpitch squad broke out their offense on Wednesday against Roosevelt at home, routing the Roughriders 12-0 in their shortened 4A Kingco fastpitch league opener. Sammie Morris, Kendra Heyer and Camille Weisenbach all had perfect 3-for-3 games, with Heyer hitting a home run and a double for three RBIs. Weisenbach also went yard for two RBIs on the day.

Abbie Bittle got the win on the mound for Bothell, allowing just two hits while striking out three.

With the win, Bothell stayed perfect at 5-0 overall and will take on cross-town rival Inglemoor on Friday on the Vikings’ home turf at 6 p.m.

 

Cougar baseball slips bast Ballard

Bothell High held onto their 4A Kingco baseball win over Ballard on Wednesday despite a wild finish, by a score of 7-5.

Rex Carlin pitched well, shutting the Beavers down through five innings before allowing a pair of runs in the six to cut his team’s lead to 3-2.

The Cougars responded with a four-spot in the seventh, and held on despite a rally by Ballard that saw them plate three runs in their final trip to the plate.

For Bothell (2-2, 3-5 overall) Kellen Webster, Zach Anderson and Brett Steiner each had two hits, with Carlin helping his cause with an RBI double.

 

Vikings shut out by Garfield

Inglemoor’s bats were stifled by Garfield starter Collin Evenson on Wednesday, as the senior tossed an 87-pitch, six-hit shutout.

Viking junior Willie Augustavo had the only extra-base hit for the Vikings, a double, who dropped to 1-3 with the loss.
