As we welcome Dr. Michelle Reid to Northshore, it’s also an excellent time to say thank you to Mr. Larry Francois for his eight years of service.

When Mr. Francois came to Northshore we were in a period of declining enrollment and accompanying budget challenges along with high anxiety due to school closure discussions.

Under his leadership Northshore adopted specific and measurable goals, increased graduation rates, refreshed and renewed curriculum, augmented opportunities for staff professional development, bolstered community member involvement in task forces, designed strong processes for grade reconfiguration and boundary changes, built a new Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) high school, engaged in equity work, and introduced a new approach to student discipline through Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS).

He developed strong relationships with all legislators representing Northshore, and with the business and higher education community.
