Rep. Jessyn Farrell,
To mince few words and get right to the point… I suggest you get to work to stop this rush 520 bridge demolition project. This entire permit process is farce by design. Your duty and oath to protect the public necessitates that you do all in your power to stop KGM from demolishing (without first a proper review of potential impacts) at the bridge site all the way into the ground “somewhere” covered and lined disposal site.
We the public are worried about contaminants such as asbestos, PCB, lead, metals, PAH’s. We must get help from you the media and timely legal challenges to get this done.
So you do not understand the clear regulation path? Are you really counting on KGM documents… what?
If asbestos is released from bridge deck contamination on and into Lake Washington it’s on you… as our Rep. You have taken a la say fare attitude on this entire 520 bridge project. Kenmore facilities are clearly not equipped to handle the barges, transfer, testing, reporting, enforcement, containment, and air/water pollution. The contractors have not even released the “sealed?” dump site location.
Get with it.
Patrick E. O’Brien, Kenmore
