Protect our children, put retail marijuana somewhere else | Letter

I was recently in the Seattle area visiting my daughter and grand children. When visiting I pick up my grand kids at Frank Love Elementary. Our first stop after a hard day at school is the little Ice Cream Shop a few blocks from the school on Meridian and 228th Street.

I was shocked that right next to the ice cream shop is a marijuana dispensary with a guy outside flashing a sign to the cars that says MARIJUANA-21. What do our young children think of this? They probably think marijuana is ok. I tell you what – I think it is wrong.

I live in Eureka, Calif. and we have a guy like that with a sign that says Pizza Special at lunch. That is ok. A marijuana dispensary next to the ice cream parlor, which is also close to the school is not ok. Bothell needs take a stand and put these dispensary’s somewhere else.

You seem to have a dispensary on every corner. Is it all about the money you collect? Washington use to regulate alcohol, there were very few liquor stores but for some reason I saw marijuana dispensary’s all over the place.

Bothell I think it is all about the children. Lets protect them.
