Hello everyone. As was mentioned at the Jan. 14 Greater Bothell Chamber of Commerce meeting, our nonprofit company — Cameo/Carrabba Dance — is still without space in the city of Bothell.

A huge thank you to Royal Cardon for your impromptu speech as to our value to the community and for your wonderful support. Marco was so surprised he didn’t quite know what to say, other than we appreciate everyone’s support, it is truly rewarding and solidifies that what we offer the kids in the community is unique.

We have been told “we are the best thing that ever happened” to the community. We offer a wonderful fairy-tale program for kids to participate in their favorite tale, as well as a very high caliber of ballet training and theater performing experience for all ages and abilities, including acting roles and dance roles. Perhaps the school district could take us under their wing so we can obtain space. The support of the school district to find the right space at a nonprofit affordable rate is critical to being able to offer scholarships for underpriveleged students and to support such a wonderful dance arts program.

Most recently, one of Marco’s students was chosen by the 5th Avenue Theatre as the youngest female, age 16, for a lead role in the “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” national production.

There is a tremendous need for a resident performing-arts company in the city of Bothell — “without art there is no culture.”
