So, here it is, our graduation issue again. It’s about time.

I always get excited when June rolls around because we get to sit down with four fine students from Bothell, Inglemoor, Cedar Park Christian and the Secondary Academy for Success, pick their brains and put their accomplishments and feelings about life into print. These are some of the most enlightening and satisfying feature stories we will write all year — it’s actually a bummer that we only put together four of these. I know there are many, many more students deserving of articles to send them off into the world after graduation.

So give these stories a good read, and I know we’ll all learn a little something along the way through these students’ eyes. I’m constantly amazed by our locals’ achievements throughout their high-school years, and I’m even more blown away by what they plan to do with their lives in college and beyond.

We’ve got several photographers out shooting the graduation ceremonies this week, and I fully expect some stellar shots of these kids — not just our foursome this issue, but everyone — stepping into the high-school spotlight one last time. I’ll be out at the Bothell graduation at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the University of Washington in Seattle, and there’s also Inglemoor at 7 p.m. Thursday at the UW and the Secondary Academy for Success at 7 p.m. Friday at the Northshore Performing Arts Center. Cedar Park held its ceremony last Saturday, so a big congratulations to that group.

With this issue ready to go to press, I’m already looking forward to next year’s features. It’s an honor to know you, grads.
