Marie Rowe Holzknecht died peacefully on December 12, 2016 with family by her side. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 17th at 11:00 AM, St. Brendan’s Catholic Church, 10051 NE 195th St in Bothell.
She was born in November of 1927 to Forrest and Vernie Rowe, and was the only girl in a family with five boys. She met Earl Holzknecht, her husband-to-be, on a blind date while both attended Montana State. They married in 1950 and moved from their home in Dutton, MT to the Seattle area for work. Marie was a loving wife and devoted mother—with her 11 kids, 33 grandkids, and 21 great-grandkids all growing up believing they were her favorite.
Marie’s life was an expression of joy. She was generous, nurturing, and showed by daily example what hands and hearts can do in the service of Jesus Christ. Her time here ended shortly after a private Mass with her extended family, all of whom look forward to seeing her again.
