Jean Estelle Burton

Jean Estelle Burton passed away December 29, 2011 at her home in Bothell at the age of 89.She was born Jean Benedict on March 14, 1922 in Sherburne, NY to Archibald Benedict and Ethloine Benedict (Spooner). She was raised in Sherburne and attended Elmira College in Elmira, NY.Jean lived in Bellevue for 40 years with her husband, Walter Burton, Sr.She is survived by her children, Beth Jarvis of El Dorado Hills, CA, Steve Burton of New York City, Bonnie Pieruccioni of Bothell, Walter Burton, Jr. of Olympia and Brian Burton of Lacey, as well as nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.Jean is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings Dorothy Adwards and Bruce Benedict and her son, Alan Krause.She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Oneida, NY for 65 years and later a lecturer for Weight Watchers while she lived in Bellevue. Jean was an active volunteer and mentor at the Northshore Senior Center in Bothell. No services have been planned at this time, but memorials may be made by donations to Elmira College, Office of Annual Giving, One Park Place, Elmira, NY 14901.
