Jean Elinor Koontz

Jean Elinor Koontz was born in Seattle on February 17, 1921 to Harry and Erna Heschelman. Jean passed away peacefully at Starr Family Home in Chelan, WA on February 22, 201l. Jean lived in Bothell for 65 years prior to moving to Chelan. She is survived by her children, Linda Estes and husband Wilson of Chelan, Bob and Mary Koontz of Kirkland, Chris and JR Koontz of Waterville, Darin and Kristi Koontz of Woodinville, and Dorne and Kim Koontz of Everett. She had 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. While living in Bothell, Jean was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and Bothell First Lutheran Church. Jean loved her family, her many pets, and her expansive garden. Her home was always open to everyone with a ready cup of coffee, a snack, and a warm welcome. She was always ready to give a garden tour. Jean will rest peacefully beside her husband Ray of 51 years. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know and love her. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2:00 pm at Rhododendron Park in Kenmore.Donations in her memory can be made to The “Squirty Fund” through the Lake Chelan Veterinarian Clinic, P.O.
