Woodinville Montessori School is now fully accredited from PK-12th grade by the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS).
Previously fully NWAIS-accredited through ninth grade, WMS sought accreditation for the final three grades of its new WMHS secondary program. The NWAIS board has just approved that extension.
WMS is now Washington state’s only independent Montessori school fully accredited for PK through 12th grade through both NWAIS and the American Montessori Society (AMS).
AMS’s accreditation is for students aged 18 months through 17 years, and confirms that the school practices the authentic educational philosophy and practices of Maria Montessori. WMS is also approved by the state of Washington through grade 12.
Schools voluntarily go through the exacting accreditation process to show their commitment to continuous school improvement and compliance with certain standards. WMS co-founder and Head Mary Schneider said the school is very proud to have reached this milestone in providing high quality, independent Montessori education to children of all ages.
