Woodin Elementary School PTA received a $5,000 Toolbox for Education grant from the Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation to build an outdoor classroom, or learning lab, at the school. The learning lab will allow teachers to teach subjects, such as science, in an outdoor setting.
Parents and students will work together to create the outdoor classroom near the school’s organic vegetable garden.
“We are so honored to be the recipients of this generous donation from the Lowe’s Foundation. Thanks to them, Woodin students will benefit greatly for years to come by the addition of the outdoor learning lab, and it is exciting to be part of this pivotal transformation,” said Alisa Garcia, Woodin Elementary PTA co-president.
