Woman allegedly kidnapped, attacked in Kenmore

According to police, the victim, a woman, 43, said she was attacked by two men in a pick-up truck as she walked home early the morning of Sept. 14 from the Safeway store on Northeast Bothell Way in Kenmore.

The alleged incident reportedly took place about 2 a.m. Public information officer for the King County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. John Urquhart said the victim earlier had been at the Double D Bar and Grill on Northeast 181st Street, but she reported she had stopped at the Safeway on her way home.

Urquhart said the driver of the pick-up stopped near the woman and started making small talk. A passenger in the truck then allegedly pulled the woman into the back seat of the vehicle. The driver then pulled away. As the truck drove around, the victim states she was sexually assaulted in the back seat by first the passenger and then the driver. Urquhart said the victim eventually was dropped off and walked a few blocks to a market and called a friend.

According to Urquhart, the case is under active investigation and he declined to release any further details. It is unclear from reports where the woman was when she was allegedly picked up or where she was let go. No information was released regarding any suspects.
