The following is a press release from the Bothell Police Department.
Bothell Police are looking into two separate incidents of theft and counterfeiting involving the sales of computers on Craigslist.
The Department received reports from two victims who posted ads to Craigslist attempting to sell Apple Computers. In both instances the suspects agreed to meet with the victims at businesses in Bothell.
Both victims reported making the transaction and receiving $100 bills (US currency) in exchange for their computers.
When the victims attempted to deposit the bills, they were advised the bills were counterfeit. The victims reported that the serial numbers on each bill was the same as the other $100 bills given to them by the suspects.
However, the serial numbers were different between the two incidents.
In one of the incidents the suspect was male and in the other, the suspect was female.
The male suspect, who called himself “Joshua”, is described as Caucasian, in his forties, 6 feet tall, 250 lbs, dark brown hair in a ponytail, and wearing a brown leather jacket.
The female suspect, who called herself “Sarah”, is described as Caucasian, late 20s to early 30s, 5’6″, medium build, with brown or auburn curly hair.
