The latest Whale Scout Helpin’ Out forest restoration event takes place Saturday at North Creek Forest in Bothell hosted by Friends of North Creek Forest.
Whale Scout, a Bothell-based non-profit, connects trained naturalists with the public, sharing their knowledge about the local whale population in Puget Sound, assisting them in sightings from shore, and offering everyday tips on what anyone can do to help their conservation.
“We are working to restore a forest which will provide clean water for salmon in North Creek,” said Whale Scout director Whitney Neugebauer. “If you love watching whales in Puget Sound, assisting in our forest restoration will help ensure they will keep coming back to feed on healthy salmon.”
Whale Scout Helpin’ Out is free and open to the public, includes a barbecue lunch, and runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at North Creek Forest off 112th Ave. NE in Bothell.
