The Bothell Blotter is a description of a small selection of police incidents all calls to the Northshore area that are dispatched to on-duty officers.
Between Aug. 25 and Aug. 31, 11 thefts (including identity theft and fraud) occurred along with seven robberies and burglaries, four traffic accidents or hit-and-runs, four DUIs, four vehicle prowls, four domestic violence calls and one case of assault.
Aug. 25
A motor vehicle was reported stolen along 16th Drive Southeast. The vehicle was valued at $1,500.
A business along 20th Avenue Southeast reported three flags being stolen from their poles. The ropes for the flagpoles were cut, costing $1,500 in damage to the poles and in replacement flags.
A victim reported their mailbox had been stolen from the mailbox position on the post. The approximate value was $25.
Aug. 26
Officers parked in the business parking lot along Woodinville Drive approached a suspect in a vehicle requesting assistance. Based off officer observations, the suspect was arrested for DUI.
A person reported the loss of more than $800 after wiring money out of state to purchase a puppy. The advertisement and website turned out to be a scam.
Officers responded to multiple reports of shots being heard along Northeast 170th Place. The officers contacted the homeowner in their partially opened garage who happened to be in possession of firearms, but was not suspected of firing shots. A search of the area revealed no shell casings or bullet holes.
A robbery was reported along SR 527. The case is currently under active investigation.
A sexual offense was reported along 120th Avenue Northeast. The case is currently under active investigation.
A person reported the theft of their son’s bicycle from outside a store entrance while shopping inside. The bike’s value is approximately $540.
A domestic violence occurred along 244th Street Southeast.
Aug. 28
A domestic violence occurred along 42nd Avenue Southeast. The victim reported being punched in the leg by her ex-boyfriend after she grabbed his cell phone from him. The boyfriend was cited for Assault in the fourth degree and domestic violence.
An assault occurred along 238th Street Southeast. The case is currently under active investigation.
Aug. 29
Officers observed a suspect taking an exit on the freeway, using a closed off-ramp, and damaging their vehicle. The driver was stopped and arrested for DUI.
A homeowner returned home to find coins and jewelry missing from their residence and garage, located along Northeast 190th Street. The garage door was found broken. The total estimated loss is approximately $10,500.
A robbery was reported along SR 527. The case is currently under active investigation.
Aug. 30
Officers responded to reports of a driver asleep at the wheel, but stopped in the right turn lane of Maltby Road and SR 527. Upon investigation, the driver was arrested for DUI.
A robbery was reported along 4th Avenue West. The case is currently under active investigation.
A residential burglary was reported along Northeast Bothell Way when a victim returned home to discover the front door had been kicked in. An unknown male was still in the residence and was found in the master bedroom holding a pillowcase. The victim detained the suspect until police arrived, arresting the suspect and booking them on residential burglary and robbery charges.
Aug. 31
An elderly male was found deceased by his wife. He passed in his home along 221st Street Southeast.
A homeowner reported a residential burglary along Northeast 185th Street when they returned home and interrupted the thief. The suspect was seen inside the apartment through a window from the outside, possibly entering through the unlocked front door. The suspect left the residence, leaving the flat screen TV, a laptop and a Playstation on the floor near the front door. The investigation is currently ongoing.
