Rescheduled from the snow closure on Jan. 19, the University of Washington, Bothell will host its ninth annual Nursing Career Advancement Day Fair from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 23. Representatives from 20 Washington state health-care employers and educational institutions will be available at the fair to discuss nursing career and educational opportunities with attendees.
The free event will take place in the university’s North Creek Events Center, 18115 Campus Way N.E.
Organizations expected to participate include Oregon Health Sciences University, Washington Center for Nursing, Continuing Nursing Education at UW School of Nursing, UW Medicine, Evergreen Hospital Medical Center, Seattle Children’s Hospital, Seattle Pacific University, UW School of Nursing (Seattle), Harrison Medical Center, Virginia Mason Medical Center, Seattle University College of Nursing and Group Health Cooperative.
One of the co-sponsors of the event, Emily Christian, assistant director of the UW-Bothell Career Center, says “Nursing Career Advancement Day is an opportunity for prospective students, current students, alumni and community visitors to network with regional employers and nursing educational programs. Students currently enrolled in RN (registered nurses) programs who wish to complete a BSN (bachelor of science in nursing), working nurses ready for a new professional challenge, or those thinking of a career in nursing are encouraged to attend.”
All are invited to discover what it takes to earn an ADN (associate degree nursing), BSN, or graduate nursing degree, and to explore employer-based resources for career development.
