The University of Washington, Bothell recognizes Lisa Walker as the winner of this year’s Staff Appreciation Award.
The award was established in 2002 for the chancellor to honor a staff member for outstanding accomplishments or achievements within the institution.
Walker was chosen from several applications because of her commitment to her job as an administrative assistant in the Office of Advancement and External Relations.
In nominations from her peers, she was noted as demonstrating high standards for her work, working well with students, faculty, and staff and providing supervision and guidance to student workers.
In addition to her position as an administrative assistant, she also works as the commencement coordinator, working to plan, implement, and oversee each year’s commencement ceremony. This year was an especially busy year for her, as she also played a large part in the planning and execution of UW-Bothell’s 20th Year Celebration.
When asked about her win, she says, “It’s such honor to be recognized, especially when there are so many great staff members at UW-Bothell that are just as deserving.”
Walker currently resides in Bothell.
