Emily Christian, Interim Director of UW Bothell Student Services, has received a Fulbright Award from the International Education Administrators Program.

Christian is UW Bothell’s fourth Fulbright winner this year, joining Professor Dan Jaffe and students Tyrell Edwards and Christopher Nelson.

Christian will travel to Germany in October to participate in the Fulbright Seminar for U.S. Administrators in International Education. This program helps U.S. international education professionals and senior higher education officials create empowering connections with the societal, cultural and higher education systems of other countries.

During the seminar, conducted by the Fulbright Commission in Berlin, Christian will visit different institutions to study the educational program and specifically career services and career education programs.

“Germany offers very specific educational programs for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), including internships and work experiences,” Christian said. ”I am hoping to learn more about these programs and best practices. I would love to be able to increase UW Bothell’s educational partnerships with Germany and implement some of the ideas and best practices.”

At UW Bothell, Christian oversees student services, including the career center, counseling, merit scholarships and services for veterans and disabled students.
