Timbercrest Junior High students serve in Olympia

Timbercrest Junior High eighth-graders Katie Kelly and Anna Estabrook served as pages in the Washington State House of Representatives Feb. 27- March 2. During the week, they attended page school daily to understand the operations and actions of the Legislature, took part in a mock bill exercise and delivered documents to elected offices and staff on the floor of the House and throughout the Capitol campus.

During the week, they attended page school daily to understand the operations and actions of the Legislature, took part in a mock bill exercise and delivered documents to elected offices and staff on the floor of the House and throughout the Capitol campus.

Each week during the legislative session, 14- to 16-year-old students serve in the legislative page program. They must have a legislative sponsor and permission from their schools and parents. Kelly and Estabrook were sponsored by 15th District State Representative Bruce Chandler.
