Three cheers For Northshore| Cheerleading Scene

For several summers now, the Northshore School District high-school cheer teams have been in attendance at the same National Cheerleading Association (NCA) camp. Once again, Bothell High, Inglemoor High and Woodinville High cheer worked hard on their technical skills and became stronger teams while at this summer's NCA camp in Ellensburg. As co-coach of Bothell's team, I feel they brought back their superior tradition of excellence in unity, spirit and effort to grow as a team while at camp. Coach (Dana) Takacs and I are very proud of how hard they worked, their motivation for each other and kindness towards other teams while at camp.

Once again, Bothell High, Inglemoor High and Woodinville High cheer worked hard on their technical skills and became stronger teams while at this summer’s NCA camp in Ellensburg.

As co-coach of Bothell’s team, I feel they brought back their superior tradition of excellence in unity, spirit and effort to grow as a team while at camp. Coach (Dana) Takacs and I are very proud of how hard they worked, their motivation for each other and kindness towards other teams while at camp.

Over at Inglemoor, co-coach Mary Taylor offers: “The NCA leadership camp provided the best cheer leadership experience we could have hoped for. It provided our squad with bonding, excellent hands-on training from the NCA professional cheerleaders and memories that will last a lifetime. It was especially great to attend camp with our fellow coaches and squads from Bothell and Woodinville.”

Laura Agnew, Woodinville coach, says: “Our WHS Falcon cheerleaders had an awesome week at cheer leadership camp. The girls focused and worked tremendously hard at improving their technical cheer skills. The week also provided a wonderful opportunity for reflection and growth in the area of leadership. They started the week as a team of 14 individuals and finished the week a strong, united family. I am very proud of each member of our team, it is going to be a great season.”

The coaches work as a team to unify their school district, keep the spirit alive at all three high schools and make sure all games showcase simply the best sportsmanship — not just rival high schools, but supporting a proud tradition of community pride.
