Kenmore police said they Tasered a man, 18, three times early the morning of April 9 before being able to subdue him after they responded to reports of a possible drug overdose.

Police said the incident started at the home of the suspect’s mother on Northeast 200th Street. Reports add the mother and some of the suspect’s friends feared for the man’s safety after he began acting psychotically following the alleged ingestion of an unknown amount of mind-altering mushrooms sometime prior to the arrival of police.

According to reports, police found the man in a bedroom of the home, naked except for a sweater. After he punched out a window and tried to leave the home, police shot him with a Taser. Reports said it had no affect and the suspect dove out the window.

Reportedly, the suspect approached a second police car that had arrived on the scene, but found it locked and began to approach an officer. Police say they ordered the man to the ground, but were ignored. The suspect was again shot was a Taser, but ran off with the leads still in him. Police say they gave chase, catching up with him about four blocks away. A third Taser shot apparently stunned him enough in order for police to subdue him.

No charges were filed. He was taken to Evergreen Hospital for an involuntary psychiatric evaluation.
