The city of Kenmore will hold an informal drop-in open house from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 28 at the Northshore Utility District, 6830 N.E. 185th St. Come speak to city staff and the SR 522 Improvement Project team to learn about the design under way for the west segment of SR 522, from 60th Avenue Northeast to 65th Avenue Northeast. Property and landowners along this section of SR 522 are particularly encouraged to come, but everyone is welcome.

Some of the west segment planned improvements include:

• Widening SR 522 from west of 61st Avenue Northeast to 65th Avenue Northeast

• Widening 61st Avenue Northeast from Northeast 181st Street to Northeast 175th Street

• Additional lanes at the intersection of 61st Avenue Northeast and SR 522 to increase capacity

• Conversion to underground utilities

• New sidewalks, street lighting, landscaping, medians and traffic signals
