With community and sponsor participation, the annual Light a Fire for Learning Luncheon presented by the Northshore Public Education Foundation (NPEF) hopes to raise more than $75,000 this year. The foundation is seeking corporate sponsorships to contribute financially to the event, which is set for May 7 at the Lynnwood Convention Center.
Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the program will run from noon to 1:15 p.m.
By gathering and identifying the support of local businesses, the event will benefit and impact the education of all students in the Northshore School District. Sponsorship opportunities include Associate ($500), Table ($1,000), Major ($2,500), Premier ($5,000) and Title ($10,000). Benefits are commensurate with the level of sponsorship.
Eric Liu, author, radio personality and University of Washington faculty member, will be the keynote speaker.
Proceeds raised through the event will fund classroom grants as well as math, science and humanities materials for all 30 Northshore schools.
