Bothell Public Works crews began snow- and ice-removal operations at approximately 6 a.m. this morning as the snow began to fall in the Snohomish County portion of Bothell, according to Public Works Superintendent Nik Stroup.
As the morning wore on, the snow became more widespread covering all portions of Bothell’s corporate city limits.
Due to an early blocking accident involving a truck and a jack-knifed semi, Maltby Road was briefly closed down between 23rd Avenue Southeast and 29th Avenue Southeast. Once tow trucks arrived, the vehicles were removed that the road was opened back up to traffic.
All roads in Bothell are currently open with city crews continuing to remove snow from the streets. With cold temperatures projected to arrive this evening, crews are prepared to deploy anti-ice chemicals and continue around-the-clock snow- and ice-removal operations as needed.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, the southbound lanes of Interstate 405 were shut down at Filbert Road in Bothell for more than half an hour due to numerous spinouts and were reopened at 8:30 a.m.
According to Kenmore Public Information Officer Leslie Harris, Kenmore received light snow showers, and city officials continue to monitor the weather.
