Inglemoor High graduate Emily Slater is one of 23 students to be offered honors at entrance to Gonzaga University.
The international baccalaureate (IB) student earned a 3.98 grade-point average in all advanced-placement courses and was in the National Honor Society throughout high school. She received the following awards: National Merit Commended Scholar, President’s Award for Educational Excellence, Washington State Principals’ Scholar Award and IB Diploma Candidate.
As part of the National Honor Society program, Slater has also participated in numerous community-service activities including cleanups, feeding the homeless and more.
The avid dancer and dance instructor is also involved in her faith and in the St. Brendan community. She is a member of the Brendan Leadership Team and was selected to the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Youth. Through this organization, she helps plan social and community activities for the Catholic youth of the Archdiocese of Seattle. This summer, she will be a camp counselor at the Catholic Youth Organization summer camp.
