Editor’s note: Juanita Drive has since been reopened and the onsite investigation has concluded.

An accident early Friday morning has left Juanita Drive on Finn Hill near NE 128th Street just south of the Kenmore boudary closed as police conduct an investigation.

Two men in their mid to late 20s were sent to the hospital after the vehicle they were traveling in left the roadway and slammed into a power pole. Police have not ruled out drugs or alcohol being a factor in the crash. Weather conditions, including heavy rain, could also be a factor.

The Kirkland Police expect that the investigation will last through the morning commute and a detour has been set up to reroute traffic around the accident scene.
