Public input requested on update to Kenmore’s hazard mitigation plan

The city of Kenmore is working with King County to update the city’s hazard mitigation plan.

The city of Kenmore is working with King County to update the city’s hazard mitigation plan. The purpose of this plan is to help reduce the exposure of city residents to risks from natural hazards, such as earthquakes and floods. By writing the plan, local governments are able to apply to federal programs that may provide money that could be used to reduce risks before and after natural disasters.

City officials are conducting the short survey to identify projects that will help minimize or avoid impacts from future natural hazard events. The seven questions will help us identify areas where we should focus our efforts and resources.

Officials encourage all of those who live and/or work in Kenmore to participate in the online survey by visiting, https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KenmoreHazardMitigation. The survey closes Jan. 9.

Once the draft plan update has been prepared, another opportunity for public feedback will be provided.
