University of Washington Bothell and Cascadia Community College will be hosting an Oxfam America Hunger Banquet with keynote speaker, president and CEO of Oxfam America, Raymond Offenheiser, a special occasion.

All are welcome to this free event from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 at Mobius Hall on the UWB/CCC campus.

“Everyone on earth has the same basic needs; it is only our circumstances—where we live and the culture into which we are born—that differ. Some are born into relative prosperity and security, while millions, through no choice of their own, are born into poverty,” said OxFam America officials.

Few experiences bring to life the inequalities in our world more powerfully than an Oxfam America Hunger Banquet. The event allows organizers and participants alike to experience firsthand how our decisions affect others in the world. After an Oxfam America Hunger Banquet, few participants leave with full stomachs, but all possess a greater understanding of the problems of hunger and poverty and will feel motivated to do something about them.
