Pacific Islamic Community and Cultural Services holds cooking demo, gathering in Bothell

Pacific Islamic Community and Cultural Services (PICACS), a Bothell-based multi-ethnic organization comprised of Muslims living in the Pacific Northwest, recently held a cooking demonstration for local women, primarily from Bothell, Kirkland and Lynnwood. The members focused on increasing social interaction and developing a better understanding of each other.

Nadia Kamal Mustafa held the function at her Bothell residence, and the demonstration was jointly conducted by Khalida Mustafa and Nadia Kamal Mustafa. Audience present at the function saw and tasted meatballs prepared in Pakistani style and copies of the recipe were provided to the attendees.

PICACS is also arranging a musical night July 24 at the Kirkland Performance Center. The event will focus on the performance of traditional songs from various countries of the Muslim world by well-known Pakistani American pop singer Alamgir.

Dates and venues for future cooking demos will be published on the PICACS Web site at www.picacs.org.
