The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) recognized Kenmore Junior High School as a high-performance, sustainable junior high school facility that supports environmental leadership and provides hands-on opportunities for sustainable academics.
“OSPI is issuing this Certificate of Recognition because we believe it is important to recognize districts who meet the state challenge in designing a school that supports environmental leadership and provides hands-on opportunities for sustainable academics,” said OSPI Director of School Facilities and Organization Gordon Beck.
Kenmore Junior High School met the state’s High Performance Schools design requirements. The school design includes sustainable characteristics and building systems that deliver superior energy performance, reduce water use, provide excellent indoor environmental qualities and operate more efficiently and effectively, potentially reducing the building’s annual operating costs.
