O’Keeffe recognized as Washington History Day 2011 Administrator of the Year

The Washington State Historical Society has selected Northshore School District (NSD) Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education Carolyn O’Keeffe, Ph.D., as the 2011 Jim Kierfert Administrator of the Year. The award recognizes the contributions and continuing support of teachers and students who participate in History Day. She will be recognized at the state contest awards ceremony at 6 p.m. May 7 at Bellevue College.

O’Keeffe was nominated by NSD teachers Dori Wuepper and Paula Cautrell. They noted in their nomination that her support of History Day has raised the bar for student achievement throughout the district. This year, 28 NSD students will present 23 History Day projects at the state competition.
