Northshore Students are National Merit semifinalists

Around 11 Northshore School District students are semifinalists in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship competition.

Semifinalists include Inglemoor High School—Zhanpei Fang, Julia Lefond, Liora Silkes, Gary Wang, Zijie Wang and Antonia Willnow. Woodinville High School—Amrutha Gujjar, Peter Lawson, James Ragan, Kaylene Stocking and Desmond Toor.

Across the nation, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation designates about 16,000 semifinalists from among nearly 1.4 million students who take the PSAT during their sophomore or junior year. National Merit Semifinalists are considered for National Merit Finalist status and the opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,000 National Merit Scholarships worth about $35 million that will be offered next spring.
