Next Wednesday, March 21, Bothell resident and local scout leader Jed Reynolds will be awarded the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Honor Award for saving the life of Nathan Jenson last summer during a mountain climbing trip on Mount Baker.

Woodinville’s Graham Urey and Jack Richins, of Bothell, will receive the BSA’s Heroism award for contributing to the effort.

On July 2, 2011, Jenson fell into a crevice, and Reynolds, being assisted by Urey and Richins, lowered himself down to reach Jenson.

Members of Troop 627 assisted their leaders and helped Jenson down the mountain to receive medical attention.

The ceremony to receive these awards will be at the Bothell Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 16500 124th Avenue Northeast in Woodinville.
