The Northshore School District is seeking a parent/community member for its new K-12 English Language Learner Task Force. In addition to the parent/community member representative, the nine-member task force includes four administrators and four ELL program staff representatives.
The purpose of the task force is to study the current ELL program. The task force will review available data, including a program study and research-based practices. A recommendation of program services will be made to the Labor Management Council in the spring of 2014.
The task force will meet monthly starting in November at the district Administrative Center, 3330 Monte Villa Parkway in Bothell. The final schedule of meeting dates and times will be set by the full task force at the first meeting in November.
Applications are due by Oct. 25 to the Communications Officeat the district Administrative Center. This voluntary position is appointed by the superintendent in consultation with the school board vice-president. The committee member will be notified of their selection by Nov. 7.
