Ten Northshore School District alumni, former staff or board members will be inducted to the Northshore School District Wall of Honor for 2014 and recognized at a special ceremony at 6 p.m. Aug. 14 at Pop Keeney Stadium, 9809 NE 188th, Bothell. The public is welcome to attend.
Since its inception in 2010, the Wall of Honor has recognized the outstanding achievements of over 60 Northshore alumni, retirees or volunteers who have made significant contributions to our community, state, nation or world.
This year’s inductees
Lee A. Blakely, NSD, 25 years of service: Committed educator and superintendent, and Kiwanis, community and state activist.
Gary Fuller, BHS, 1962: Dedicated volunteer for cultural arts and historical architecture.
Dr. James Minstrell, BHS, 1957: Innovative science educator and researcher, and developer of science education standards.
Richard “Dick” Ramsey, NSD, 16 years: Sponsor of youth programs, community leader and Northshore School District school board member.
Keith “KC” Rousu, WHS, 1993: Dedicated community volunteer and founder of Seattle Seahawks and Sounders drumlines.
Henry A. Simonds, NSD, 11 years of service: Founding principal of Bothell High School in 1907 and first superintendent of Bothell School District.
Jim Sullivan, NSD, 28 years of service: Respected gymnastics coach and mentor, mentor of state champions and NCAA judge.
John “Jack” Sutherland, NSD, 13 years of service: Distinguished Boy Scout and Sea Scout leader, and Northshore School District school board member.
Robert “Rob” Thompson, BHS, 1961: Award-winning film director and producer, novelist and advocate for disabled veterans.
Frances Lynch Walster, BHS, 1964: Devoted community organizer and mentor, and founder and director of Maltby Food Bank.
