The Northshore Rotary Club, a nonprofit organization that has supported the community and assisted in numerous national and international humanitarian projects and programs for more than 50 years, will hold its annual fund-raising auction Oct. 16.
Proceeds from the event will allow Rotary to continue its:
• Northshore Scholarship Foundation: As a founding club, it was the largest contributor to the foundation that provided $156,075 in scholarships to 75 area students this year.
• Santa Breakfast: A hot breakfast served to more than 1,200 locals kids in need and their families; features seasonal activities and each child receives a toy.
• Warm Coat Program: New winter coats are distributed during the Santa Breakfast to children in need.
• Third-grade Dictionary Project: More than 1,370 new hardbound children’s dictionaries are provided to Northshore School District students.
• High-risk Immunization Project: A joint project with other Rotary clubs and the Evergreen Foundation, which provides inoculations for low-income seniors, children and at-risk young women.
