The Northshore Performing Arts Center Foundation shows will be returning this fall after a year-long sabbatical.
Board Member Josh TerAvest said the Center took a year off after some volunteer board members stepped down, but said the group has been re-organized. TerAvest joined the board earlier this summer.
“Our goal is to let Bothell and everybody know that we’re back and that we are continuing the original mission of bringing cultural experiences to our communities,” he said.
This season’s performances begin on Sept. 24 and runs through next April, and include artists like Chris Mann, Doktor Kaboom and Creme Tangerine. Tickets range in price from $10 to $35.
TerAvest said the performances were selected to provide something for all ages. While most are musical acts, others include a stunt dog performance and an exploration in to the fundamentals of electricity.
This year marks the 14th season for the Northhore Performing Arts Center Foundation.
TerAvest said the organization also sponsors classroom workshops throughout the Northshore School District with the hope of introducing children to the arts. Since 2014, some 2,500 children have participated in the performing arts at school.
This is in line with the foundation’s goals, TerAvest said.
“There’s been a lot of conversations about what this organization should be,” he said. “There’s a lot of passion around it and a lot of really committed people around who want a performing arts center with rich programming in our community.”
The Northshore Performing Arts Center is located on the Bothell High School campus.
