Both the Kenmore and Bothell police departments have events planned for the National Night Out Against Crime from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 4.
In Kenmore, Police Chief Clifford Sether will barbecue hamburgers and hot dogs, while information will be available on block watches, house checks, ID cards for kids and other safety issues.
The free event will be held at Kenmore City Hall, 6700 N.E. 181st St.
Bothell’s version of Night Out consists of free food, music, face painting and other activities along with police and city displays and (of course) crime-prevention information.

Residents in both cities are urged to turn on their porch lights the evening of Aug. 4 to support the National Night Out Against Crime.
