The Bothell Blotter is a description of a small selection of police incidents all calls to the Northshore area that are dispatched to on-duty officers.
July 7
A firearm theft was reported near 228th Street Southeast. The last time the owner remembers seeing the gun was a few months back.
A 2010 Acura stolen out of Monroe was recovered at a hotel parking log near 17th Avenue SE. A male was contacted by responding officers and decided to run, only to give up moments later after realizing that backup officers had arrived. Upon speaking with officers, the male claimed he had permission to have the vehicle and just hadn’t returned it yet. The male was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest.
A person near 108th Avenue NE reported seeing a male in his 80s naked in his garage and masturbating in full view of the public. Upon contact, the male denied being naked or doing the lewd acts. The case has been forwarded to the city prosecutor to review for possible charges.
Two women got into a fight near the intersection of NE 195th Street and North Creek Parkway after a road rage incident on the off-ramp. A physical altercation followed one woman not letting the other merge. One of the women was arrested and charges of assault and harassment have been filed.
A low-speed hit and run was reported along 100th Avenue SE when a Nissan Xterra hit a 2011 Honda and then drove off without giving their information. There were no injuries reported and the Honda did not meet the criteria for a mandatory state accident report.
July 8
$490 worth of cash, and an iPad, were reported missing from various hotel rooms over a short period of time. While a suspect was contacted and denied any involvement, none of the victims wished to file a police report or press charges. The hotel is located along SR 527.
A sexual offense was reported along 86th Place NE. The case is still under active investigation.
July 9
A non-reportable hit and run incident occurred on NE 204th Place when an unknown driver hit a parked and empty Chevrolet Cobalt in the parking lot overnight.
A stolen Toyota Camry was recovered from an apartment complex along NE 190th Street after maintenance had reported that the vehicle had been in the same spot for weeks without moving. The vehicle was stolen out of unincorporated Bothell. The owner was contacted and came to the scene to claim their vehicle.
A person parked their Suzuki in a parking lot along SR 527 when the vehicle was hit by an unknown motorist who then fled the scene. The Suzuki had damage on the right rear panel above the tire, most likely caused by someone opening their door too hard.
A Toyota was struck by an unknown driver while it was parked in a lot along nE 204th Place. The Toyota sustained damage to the right from bumper.
Officers on patrol noticed a driver following to closely to the vehicle in front of them. Upon following both cars, the officer noticed the first vehicle drifting in and out of the lane and driving well below the posted speed limit. Upon contact with the driver, it was obvious that the female had been drinking and was placed under arrest.
July 10
A hit and run was reported near the 111th Avenue NE by the owner of a silver Kia. After visiting a friend she returned to her vehicle to find white paint transferred onto her silver car, and damage to the rear driver side panel.
A male reported the theft of a green bicycle outside of a grocery store along SR 527. The victim rode his bike to the store to enjoy some coffee when his $2,000 bike was stolen. The serial number has been entered into police records.
A domestic violence incident occurred along 112th Avenue NE after a son had lost $20 that the father had given him for a haircut. The son wished to get a haircut and asked his dad for more money. The dad said ‘no’ and a verbal dispute ensued. No signs of a physical altercation were present, no crime was committed.
July 11
A female and male, who had been dating on and off, got into a verbal altercation near SR 527 after texting. The recently split couple had texted mutual friends about wanting to be back together prior to the argument. The parties were allowed to leave the scene in individual taxis and no crime was committed.
July 12
Officers were called out to the site of loud fighting near 92nd Avenue NE between a husband and wife. Both parties spoke to officers and no signs of physical violence were seen. No crime was committed.
Outbuildings on a property along 228th Street SE was broken into and two lawn mowers from the building. A door jamb of the main door to the residence was also damaged and two gas-powered brush trimmers were stolen from inside the house. The trimmers were valued at $1,500 total, though the victim did not have the serial numbers for them. No one has lived at the residence since 2014, though there is a ‘No Trespassing’ sign on the property. A hot tub was also illegally dumped.
A 71-year-old male was found deceased in the bathroom. He died of natural causes and had resided along SR 527.
A husband and wife residing along North Creek Parkway had been verbally fighting all day over family issues when the husband got ged up with the argument and grabbed his wife, throwing her to the ground. While she was on the ground, he assaulted her and grabbed her around the neck, allegedly choking her. The wife sustained red marks and cuts to her neck, chest and face and the husband was arrested for assault in the second degree and domestic violence.
A domestic incident occurred along 11th Court SE between a mother and daughter. According to the daughter, the mother held her down so she couldn’t leave. After officer arrival, it was determined that no crime had been committed.
July 13
An officer on patrol came across an unoccupied vehicle parked in an odd location near a restaurant along SR 527. The officer ran the plates and the vehicle came back as stolen through the Snohomish County Sheriffs Department. The registered owner was contacted to come and claim the vehicle.
A female residing near 218th Place SE received an alert from her bank concerning a fraudulent $2,400 purchase on her bank account made out of Pennsylvania. The bank noticed the activity and has since reimbursed the victim.
A male reported malicious damaged to his vehicle, which occurred overnight sometime, while it was parked at his apartment complex along Woodinville Drive. The victim’s right rear tire had been deflated, but not damaged. The vehicle also had an emblem stolen from the front of the vehicle.
