The pool at McMenamins could be open by the end of this month after being shut down in January by the Department of Health due to excessive fog.
Pool manager Debra Shelton said the pool has been clear for many days since they were closed, but that the Department of Health wanted them to implement a permanent solution to the fog problem, caused by hot water from the pool mixing with cool air coming in from ventilation opening in the ceiling.
Engineers began installing an enhanced ventilation system yesterday after permits were approved by the city of Bothell on Friday.
“The McMenamins have worked hard to expedite everything on our end, bringing in the engineer team the day after we were closed by the Department of Health,” Shelton said in an email.
An exact opening date has not yet been determined.
