High school and middle school students from all over Snohomish County will participate in a Day of Service in honor of Dr. King’s memory on Jan. 18.
This is a collaborative project of the United Way, the YMCA Minority Achievers Program, Catholic Community Services Chore and Retired Senior Volunteer Programs.
The organizations are in need of adult volunteers of all ages to meet the students at the work sites, introduce them to the person/organization receiving help and be available as a mentor or coach. A volunteer’s role is to be with them as they do their project, making sure they stay safe and stay on task. Service hours are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There is a training session at the United Way, 3120 McDougall, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Jan. 13.
