The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical roundup of calls to the Bothell Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Bothell Police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Bothell.
March 7
Malicious mischief: 2:51 a.m., 18300 block of Campus Way NE. UW Bothell security found a transient male sleeping next to a damaged trash can. The man was contacted and admitted to damaging the can and had obvious mental health issues. UW security requested male be trespassed from property. The man was transported to Bothell Police Department, where he accepted assistance from the Mobile Crisis Team.
Car theft: 2:06 p.m., 11800 NE 195th St. A woman reported that her keys and ID were stolen from her unlocked locker at the YMCA. Officers reported nine thefts in the location since Jan. 20. The woman’s car, a Toyota 4Runner, was also stolen. The woman and YMCA staff met with police to discuss the incident. Surveillance of the area confirmed a woman in her 20s or 30s wearing a back jacket with fur around the hood, black t-shirt with turquoise logo, blue jeans and black shoes, who is driven to the YMCA, where she goes into the building. She is then seen getting into the stolen vehicle and driving away. YMCA staff stated that the suspect obtained a seven-day pass. Police have forwarded the case on to the King County Prosecutor’s Office.
Theft: 3:41 p.m., 21000 block of State Route 527. A man was detained by Fred Meyer loss prevention for attempting to steal multiple items. Upon contact, the man claimed that the incident was a big mistake and that his girlfriend had the payment for the items in the car. Bothell police were informed the man had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for this arrest. Upon a search of the suspect, police found eight DVD movies, two pair of Woodland gloves, 12 clips, a pair of unused pliers, a folding knife and a small razor blade. The man was arrested for the outstanding warrants and third degree theft. He was then transported to jail, where police found three pair of Under Armor pants and an Under Armor shirt under his regular clothes. The total value of the items found with the suspect is more than $250.
Disturbance: 11:40 p.m., 3800 block of Monte Villa Pkwy. A man called to report an assault by a 41-year-old female. Upon arrival the man claimed he was slapped, which caused surprise. there was no visible evidence to substantiate assault claim. The man was given courtesy transport to downtown Bothell.
March 8
Theft: 4:31 p.m., 12000 block of NE 195th St. A woman called police to report that her purse was stolen out of her vehicle while dropping her kids off at Woodin Elementary School. Inside the purse was a black Motorola smartphone, tourist visa, passport, Mexican driver’s license, Mexican ID card, debit card and a travel’s card.
Disturbance: 6:10 p.m., 1600 block of 228th St. SE. A 22-year-old Bothell man indicated to police that he had gotten into possible fight with another man. Dispatch had a difficult time getting any information from the caller and upon contacting him, he was less than forth coming, according to the officer. The officer did not see any injury on the man and he was unwilling to give further information about the other subject.
March 9
Assault: 2:30 a.m., 23000 block of 21st Dr. SE. Officers responded an alleged assault on a 32-year-old Bothell man. The victim had visible injuries to his face and a bloody nose upon contact. The victim said that he had heard some yelling outside his house and he saw his neighbor fighting with another man. The victim said he went over to break up the fight and that both his neighbor and another man began assaulting him. The victim positively identified his neighbor as having assaulted him. The neighbor, a 21-year-old Bothell man, was taken into custody at the scene. The victim later identified the other suspect, a 23-year-old Everett man, at Evergreen Hospital where he was taken for further evaluation. The neighbor was booked into jail but the second suspect is still outstanding.
Theft: 9:25 a.m., 18400 block of 104th Ave. NE. A 27-year-old Bothell woman reported to police that her bike was stolen on Feb. 5. The bike was kept locked to a cement wall inside of a locked garage. After the Superbowl the broken lock was found on the ground where the bike had previously been hanging.
March 10
Domestic: 6:08 p.m., 10500 block of 185th St. A 19-year-old Bothell woman’s parents showed up to her work to try and make her come home. The woman was moving in with her boyfriend and her parents were upset about it. They got into a verbal argument and called 911. The 19 year old was given a ride to her boyfriend’s house and her parents left the area.
