Local physician to speak on gratitude at annual interfaith Thanksgiving service

The Northshore Interfaith Council’s annual Thanksgiving service will feature remarks on gratitude by Woodinville physician Dr. Steven Bramwell, who survived a private plane crash in the Cascades.

The gathering is at 7 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, 13632 N.E. 177th Place, Woodinville.

Bramwell is an orthopedic surgeon, private pilot and former receiver for the University of Washington Huskies football team.

In 1990, Bramwell and his family survived a plane crash on the side of a mountain in the Cascade Mountain Range, near Mt. Rainier.

Bramwell will speak how his experience helped him to focus on the most important things in life, such as family, others and his relationship with God, instead of material things.

The Northshore Interfaith Council includes Atammayatarama Buddhist Monastery, Bear Creek United Methodist Church, Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, Cottage Lake Presbyterian Church, Congregation Kol Ami — Jewish Reform, Northshore United Church of Christ, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Wooden Cross Lutheran Church and Woodinville Unitarian Universalist Church.

Guests are invited to bring canned or dry goods to support the pantry of local hunger relief agency Hopelink.
