The Northshore area was blanketed with snow Thursday evening and into Friday morning, making the morning commute a challenge. Weather forecasters are predicting a quick melt today but current road conditions have forced some schools in the area to close.
The Northshore School District posted a message on its website at 5:09 a.m. to parents and students that all schools, including those in Kenmore and Bothell, will be closed today.
The message reads: “Northshore Schools are closed today, Friday, Dec. 9, due to inclement weather and road conditions. All district schools are closed and there are no after-school or evening activities, athletics or band/orchestra.”
Cedar Park Christian in Bothell will also be closed today with no activities.
The University of Washington Bothell and Cascadia College announced at 4:40 a.m. that the two schools will have a late start today, with all activities and classes before 10 a.m. being cancelled. Cascadia’s website states: “Use your best judgment based on road conditions in your area.”
No word had been given from Bastyr University in Kenmore as of 5:30 a.m.
