Looking for a sweet treat this weekend?
Cairn Brewing is hosting a pop-up Valentine’s Day event for local KDJ’s The Bakerie from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12.
KDJ’s The Bakerie specializes in handmade baked goods for the Bothell and Kenmore communities.
The baker, K.D. Jenkins, found her love for baking as a child in her mother’s kitchen. In 1999, she graduated from pastry school, and by 2012 she began teaching the Baking and Pastry Arts Program at Edmonds College, where she is still teaching.
The bakery has been around for several years, although always as a small pop-up at the Kenmore Community Market, Espresso Works, and through Facebook events.
For the Valentine’s Day pop-up event, Jenkins is providing an assortment of treats:
- Chocolate Chunk Cookies
- Chocolate Chunk Walnut Cookies
- Peanut Butter Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies
- Snickerdoodle Cookies
- Glo’s Shortbread
- Gluten-free Apricot Oat Bars
- Heart-shaped Double Chocolate Fudge Brownies
- Chocolate Espresso Tarts
- Jalapeno Cheddar Scones
- Assorted Breakfast Breads
In addition, a seasonal gift called the “Truffle Quartet,” is available. Each box has four truffles which contain honey, coffee, 70% single origin, and spicy bourbon. Ingredients from Kenmore Coffee Company and Woodinville Straight Bourbon Whiskey are included in the truffle quartet.
A mix-and-match special will allow for four cookies and/or oat bars for $14.
Cairn Brewing is located at 7204 NE 175th St. in Kenmore.
