The Northshore Education Foundation will hold its “Light a Fire for Learning” luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. May 5 at the Lynnwood Convention Center.
The keynote speaker will be Northshore School District Superintendent Larry Francois.
According to the foundation, Francois will address the district’s education goals and the importance of the district’s partnership with the Education Foundation.
Additional speakers and student entertainment also are planned. High-school students from the district magnet program, Event Hospitality and Tourism Management are assisting with the planning.
The stated goal of the luncheon is to raise more than $75,000 with proceeds benefitting all students in the Northshore district. Funds raised will support classroom grants, the Elementary Literacy Initiative, as well as math, science and humanities materials.
