Teachers, support staff and other public school supporters have organized an Education Funding Forum to discuss under-funding for public schools, the “levy cliff” and other funding issues on Saturday morning at North Creek High School in Bothell.
Several local legislators will be in attendance, including Sen. Guy Palumbo (1st Dist.), Rep. Derek Stanford (1st Dist.), Rep. Roger Goodman (45th Dist.) and Rep. Larry Springer (45th Dist.), according to a release from the Northshore Education Association, the NSD teachers’ and support staff union.
Northshore Schools Superintendent Michelle Reid will be among the speakers, and will ask the legislators questions regarding funding.
The forum will take place in building 3, which houses the gym, theater and cafeteria, and is set to begin at 9:30 a.m.
